Oh my, where to start? The message today…REJOICE!!!
The bible says to rejoice in the fact that Jesus was born for us, saved us from all our sins, and will come again. If you’ve read any of my prior posts, you know that I like to not only reflect on what this means for my future, but what the reading means to me today.
Be thankful for all of your blessings.
I have been blessed with wonderful children. I love spending time with them, watching them flourish. I love to share in their accomplishments and enjoy sharing little pieces of their days with them. I love how creative their minds are and how much they enjoy each other (most of the time).
I spend a lot of my time following my kids around. Following my children used to mean picking up after them and basically running around keeping them safe from harm when they were little. Now, following my kids means running like crazy to all of the ball games, church functions, college visits, pep rallies, club events, school functions, and anything else they are involved in. It’s can be exhausting keeping up with them but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes, it feels like they are involved in too much, but I’m super proud of all of their accomplishments and everything they do.
I’m thankful for the health and happiness of my family.
Be aware of the blessings around you.
This weekend I watched two of my daughters perform in the State Dance Competition. I not only rejoiced with them in their own accomplishments, but got to share the little moments with the rest of my family and a stadium full of strangers. I sat and basked in the pure talent in front of me as all of the teams danced with passion and enthusiasm. I felt truly blessed to not only have my own children performing, but to have been in a place with talented young adults that were sharing their gift of dance with the whole crowd. What a pleasure!
What brings you joy today?
So, far the day is only half over but the joys I’ve gained are many. Here are just a few that I can think of off the top of my head:
- Beautiful, pristine, white snow that fell while we were sitting in church.
- The popular 80’s song that came on the radio on the drive home that had my family all singing along.
- Warm, cheesy, sausage breakfast burritos that my husband made us for breakfast.
- Watching NFL games on TV. (Go Broncos!)
- Our Christmas tree twinkling in the corner of the living room.
- The hot drink in my hand and warm blanket I’m snuggled under.
Yep, I’m truly blessed. I’m grateful for the blessings in my life today and every day. I know that I will have many more and REJOICE in the awesome things that will come.
May peace and joy be with you, today and in the future!
